The first China Pet Feed and Food Conference was held in Beijing

On February 21-22, the first China Pet Food Conference of the Pet Feed (Food) Branch of the China Feed Industry Association, co-sponsored by the China Feed Industry Association and the Beijing Feed Industry Association, was successfully held in Beijing.

The meeting was presided over by Wang Zongli, the head of the National Animal Husbandry Station and the executive vice president and secretary general of China Feed Industry Association Wang Zongli, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General, pointed out that the pet market in China is developing at an alarming rate, and it is expected that the market scale will be further expanded in the next few years. As an indispensable part of pet care, pet feed has grown rapidly at a rate of more than 10% per year since 2018. In 2022, in the face of the repeated COVID-19, increasing downward pressure on foreign economies and other complex environmental impacts, the production of pet feed only full price grain and nutritional supplements will reach 1.237 million tons, 9.5% year-on-year, showing a strong development resilience.

In his speech, Deputy Director Xin Guochang fully affirmed that China Feed Industry Association has grasped the pulse of the times keenly, set up a branch of pet feed (food), fully played the role of bridge and link, built a communication platform, promoted the improvement of the standard system, held a science popularization lecture hall, guided and promoted the healthy development of the pet feed industry, and has done a lot of work. In view of the common problems in the current market, three requirements are put forward: first, strictly implement the industry management system. The majority of enterprises should establish a correct development concept and carry out production and operation activities in accordance with laws and regulations. Second, we should strictly control product quality and safety. The majority of enterprises should strictly abide by the bottom line of quality and safety, and do a good job in the control of key points in the whole process of production and product quality control. Third, we should standardize the development of advertising. The majority of enterprises must adhere to a scientific and pragmatic attitude. They should not seek temporary benefits and disrupt the market order, which will ultimately damage the overall image of the pet feed industry and their own interests.
